Barrelling down the highway is an appropriate term for the speed limit on a highway like 11. And young bucks is a common phrase describing young men. I used it only because the story involves a moose.
But that's not the important thing: and that is, I did think about the families whose children are in the hospital.
Every time someone hits a moose the results are tragic.
What can we do about it, other than not travel at night?
I don't like travelling after dark at all because of moose and deer.
Yes, this blog was done in a laughing manner. Yes, it was done in poor taste, as many of my posts are.
I apologize if I've hurt you.
But seriously? I think tagging moose with reflectors is a good idea.
If your friends/family members had seen a reflector, the accident would have been avoided.
Something needs to be done to reduce the number of animal/car accidents.
Some would say the only thing is to increase hunting season.
But why not tag them?
It doesn't kill the animal, it would save untold thousands of dollars in insurance claims, and, most of all, it would save people's lives.
I hope the guys recover quickly.
Really, I do.
All the best.Cathy Olliffe-Websterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12729578896443750402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260274117021957060.post-43189533589520887782010-04-08T20:40:12.637-04:002010-04-08T20:40:12.637-04:00honestly, first off you need to get your facts str...honestly, first off you need to get your facts straight, concerning the accident that you are speaking of, the "young bucks" that according to you were "bareling down the highway" were NOT speeding! and as your joking about a poor moose how about you think of the family that is having to deal with a child in the icu in Toronto, and the other two families of the boys in the car. Oh and fyi it was not a cavalier it was a tiburon.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260274117021957060.post-46295913214213587032010-04-08T19:21:20.001-04:002010-04-08T19:21:20.001-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Lauritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03688820247531607677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260274117021957060.post-72479170939328980132010-04-08T08:48:00.313-04:002010-04-08T08:48:00.313-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Kathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11410730283603224430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260274117021957060.post-40078497239296821962010-04-08T08:33:03.000-04:002010-04-08T08:33:03.000-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.MyNorthhttp://mygreatwhitenorth.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260274117021957060.post-7645488642318405762010-04-07T20:55:13.980-04:002010-04-07T20:55:13.980-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Liz Griffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15692897861750525400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260274117021957060.post-44752477702227834822010-04-07T20:53:40.559-04:002010-04-07T20:53:40.559-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Liz Griffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15692897861750525400noreply@blogger.com
