Our b&b in St. John's. Billed as one of the most romantic bed and breakfasts in Canada, Leaside Manor certainly delivers. |
This is Alan W. Davidson's house in Newfoundland. JUST KIDDING! This is inside the bunker. |
Gorgeous picture of my hunk a burning love, the most photographed man on the internet, according to Alan at Conversations From Land's Edge. I tried to make the boat float out the side of his head. Maybe next time. |
Another beauty picture at Cape Spear. This is a stunningly beautiful place. |
More Cape Spear. We spent a fair bit of time there looking out at the ocean and at St. John's and talking to Alan Davidson. What a sweetie he is. |
While I failed miserably putting a boat in Dave's head, I did fare better putting a lighthouse in his hand. Told you he was strong (I know, I know, smell ain't everything.) |
Lighthouse/gift shop at Cape Spear. By now my bad knees were aching too much to go up yet another hill. Saves money when you have to walk to gift shops. |
His buddy comes along to lend a hand. |
Lobster traps are a staple at most of the villages on the shore. I was thinking they'd also be good containers for yappy dogs and noisy children. |
Some tour guide I am - this church was in a village outside St. John's. Alan stopped here on his touring because I just loved the statues at the front gate. |
Beauty, eh? |
Speaking of beauty, our room at Leaside Manor was not at all simple, but it was beautiful nevertheless. |
Check out the heart-shaped tub. No mom, we didn't use it. Honest. |
Harbour at Dildo. |
More of Dildo. See? No plastic anywhere. |
Dave is MY Captain Dildo! |
This lighthouse is about the actual size of our own house in Muskoka. OK, so maybe the lighthouse is bigger. |
Me and Captain Dildo in front of the Dildo gift shop. I just realized I have a LOT of Dildo photos. Heh. Well, wouldn't you? |
What great pictures Cathy & Dave. I especially like the one of Captain Dildo in front of the gift shop. A real cool dude. Love ya!! Mom
ReplyDeleteI put my children in lobster pots all the time. It's like a teeny little time out room.
ReplyDeleteI think the statues and church photos are from Bay Bulls. That's what it looks like to me anyway.
Those are some beautiful pics you took. That's a really nice one of Captain Dildo, even if the boat isn't floating out of his head.
That photo of Dave and the Captain Dildo sign cracked me up! Umm...the heart shaped tub looks kinda butt shaped, but that's just a guy's opinion.
ReplyDeleteLaurita is correct. Those photos of the church were in Bay Bulls. I think also the men cleaning the cod. Though we drove through Petty Harbour as well...
Gorgeous photos! You're giving me the itch to go back. And... how could we have missed Dildo?!
ReplyDeleteWhee! Congratulations on your BIG DAY! I hope it was everything you'd hoped and more...
ReplyDeletePhotos are wonderful...send me that one of Dave and the boat...I'll give you a perfect Photoshopped version back!
Could you imagine having an address in Dildo? I mean, seriously....!
Better than Captain Dildo upping your crack, Alan.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos as always, and it looks like you are having a simply wonderful honeymoon.
ReplyDeleteDildo. Hmmm. Wait 'till I tell you about our family business. I mean, Clement did say to develop a wood based industry here in Muskoka. The "Naughty Pine"immediately came to mind.
Lovely pics of N'foundland. You're obviously enjoying your stay and your wedded bliss. Some of the pics are hilarious. Who would know a village existed in the world by name of Dildo? You have the pics to prove it and laugh over for many happy years to come, I hope..:)
ReplyDeleteI love the photos Cathy. You crack me up :-)

I used to have a coffee table made out of a lobster trap, complete with lobster stuffee - fab pictures!
