Pillow talk

Sorry for getting all girly on ya but I found two things I am just crazy about.

Last night I had the BEST sleep of my life, all because of this contoured memory foam pillow we bought yesterday. Here's a picture of me sleeping on it:

As you can see it supports the neck and gives you a perfect single-chin jawline and blonde hair. Even better, it keeps you cool. You ever have to wake up during the night and turn your pillow because your sweaty head has made it, um, sweaty? Dave's a big head-sweater and with this memory foam thing? No sweating. He "kept a cool head" all night long. He's also subject to sore necks which lead into migraines and the pillow didn't give him a sore neck!

I don't have as many pillow issues as Dave but I haven't been happy with them lately, so when I saw these puppies I thought I'd give them a try. They're more expensive than regular pillows (about $35 in Wal-mart in Canada, probably way cheaper everywhere else), but after just one night I'd be willing to pay twice that much for such a lovely, refreshing snooze.

We have a memory foam mattress topper on our bed and love it just as much as the pillow. It makes everything so cool and comfy. Only problem is, you never want to get out of bed.

Here's a picture of me with my foam topper:

So the OTHER thing I'm crazy about is Bourjois Paris 10 Day No Chips Nail Polish. I saw it in Shopper's Drug Mart the other day and fell in love with its bright pink colour. I put it on my toenails and have been dancing around showing off my tootsies ever since. The colour is glossy and shiny and PINK and if it lasts as long as it says it will, well holy moly, that just gives whole new meaning to the phrase 'Happy Feet.'

  3. We have something very similar to the memory foam on our mattress and it makes a big difference. Didn't turn me blonde though.

    1. I can't remember for sure about Tang. I think that was one that NASA popularized, but it actually already existed.

    2. Did the pink polish come from NASA? ;)

    3. Pink polish? I'm not sure what that is.

  6. We treated ourselves to a tempurpedic mattress and matching memory pillows about a month ago, and I agree. It's even better than sleeping on a waterbed!

    1. Oh Susan, you got the fancy bed! Good for you! Isn't it great? It's great.

  7. The foam feels cooler? That's a surprise to me; I would think it would retain heat more. I read some stuff online about how warm those memory foam mattresses are, esp. in the summer. How does the pillow feel if you are a side sleeper?

    1. Yes, it feels cooler! I have no idea why but it does...
I always fall asleep on my side and wind up on my back and it feels good both ways. I'm a fan! You should try it!

  8. Years ago at a show I shared a room with my buddy Lucy at a hotel her son booked with his frequent flyer miles, or some such nonsense, that put us in a four star hotel. The mattress was a heavenly cloud. Lucy tore off all the bedding to find the brand. It was tempurpedic! Sigh.

    1. Between you and Susan I'm starting to want one of those tempurpedic mattresses... I bet they're expensive. Sigh.

  9. They sound amazing. I love the look they create as well. I have always wanted to be a blue eyed blonde, and judging by those photos I could halve my body weight over night. A winner there for sure.
The skinny portion might have to sleep elsewhere until there is enough of him to cope with the dramatic weight loss.

  10. The memory-foam on our bed makes things much hotter. But maybe we're hotter than you.

Wait; that didn't come out quite right.

Anyhow, congratulations on the good buys. (How do you think the bright pink nail polish would work on Bear's toe nails?)

    1. I think the pink polish would look FAB on you, Rob-bear because of COURSE you are hotter than moi!

    2. The only reason I'm hotter than vous is that I wear a fur coat all the time, even in 35°C weather. (Am I crazy, or what?)

  11. I skimmed through your girly post...except for those lovely blonde photos of you. Perhaps I will try one or five of those magical pillows because I'd really like to look like George Clooney.

  14. Wow Cathy, not only a good night's sleep but a whole different look tee-hee. I hope you long lasting polish lasts longer than mine, right now I have a 5 day chip resistant one on and I can see a chip in two days!

    1. It's been since Friday for my polish and I'm still chip-free! However, it IS on my toenails which take less of a beating than fingers. Especially busy typing fingers like ours!
