I'm a minion!

Don't you just love those cute yellow minion dudes? In case you've been living under a rock, they're the adorable little worker-bees in overalls featured in the movies Despicable Me 1 and 2.

Well guess what? I'm a minion! One of Alex J. Cavanaugh's minions, to be exact, for the A to Z Challenge WHICH STARTS TOMORROW!  (Can't believe that... What happened to March? What happened to 2013? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE '80S??????)

My job as minion is basically dropping by a certain number of A to Z blogs to make sure they're participating and then let Alex know, and if they have any adult content or weirdness that folks might want to know about. I'm actually worried I might be considered adult content because, you know, I might occasionally say feck. I mean, it's been known to happen ...

I've been dropping around some of the folks on my list and I'm happy to say most are pumped and ready for the challenge. Most even have their posts already written. (Keeners.) Me? I'm not even sure what my theme is going to be. A to Z has always been a pantser proposition so I'll likely just stick to Cathy's ramblings from A to Z. Yesterday it occurred to me to do cuss words from A to Z and, just off the top of my head I got all the way to the letter i without missing a beat. But I think I'll save that for another day – I'm always giving my kids crap for swearing so it wouldn't look good if I gave them an A to Z reference library for cussin'.

So I'm really looking forward to A to Z - hoping to see you around on my journeys. Hoping you meet lots of new friends and get lots of new followers. It's a happy time in blogland and I sincerely hope you make the most of it! oxox

  1. Proud to call you one of my Ninja Minions!
No theme planned? You are in for a fun ride. I winged it the first year though. If all else fails, use Q*Bert for Q. (That will take you back to the 80's!)

  2. The first year i did this i winged it. It hurt!

The 2nd i used a music theme-CDs we own & listen to. It was way easier, and included some movies that went with the music as a side benefit.

Was going to skip this year, but River "encouraged" me to try. I may try for a haiku a day. Should be ray, no?

    1. So glad you're doing it! River is quite the cheerleader, isn't she!

  3. That "ray" should have been "easy" - on-screen keyboards, y'know?

    1. Ray and easy? You got yourself some keyboard, Kevin!

I think a haiku a day is a terrific idea - you're very good at it already!

    2. The keyboard problems might be related to being all thumbs, from time to time. As to a haiku a day being a terrific idea—it's partly because I (more often than not) already do something like that that made me think of it. The easy route, don't you know.

  4. Hello, fellow Minion! :)

You are so brave for going it without a theme! There is no way I could do that. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with it. :)

    1. Hi Madeline-Minion!!!!

I'm not brave, I'm STUPID! But that's just me... I almost never plan anything, blog-wise, so why start being organized now? :) Good luck fellow Minion!!!

  5. You might be a minion, but you are definitely not a MERE minion. Have fun, and try and breathe a bit in the A to Z insanity.

  6. Thanks for doing that rough job. Culling through a gazillion names will be tough.

Oh How I love minions. I keep hinting to my husband that I need one.

  7. Love those little yellow guys. Pop in and learn some new words through April. I promise to make them interesting.

  8. Yikes! Does that mean you've joined the A-Z Police, the blog cops, the undercover super spies disguised as adorable yellow creatures in blue overalls? Or are you really a double triple agent, fighting to serve and protect the revolting masses? Or have I just overdone it on the coffee again? Either way, hope you have a feckin great time! :-)

  9. I'm minioning too, for Tina's Terrific Team. BEE DO BEE DO! lol I'm not writing though, in fact I am forced into a short break due to my falling yesterday. Good luck and I can't wait to read your posts.

  10. I can't do it, for my writer's blog, anyway. April's a very busy month. On the other hand, my photoblog's a daily thing, but that's all year, and easier to put together ahead of time.

  11. I'd love to see the A to Z of Cathy's cuss words! :)
And we always knew you were a minion - Alex just temporarily claimed you as his. ;)

  12. Ah love to read your posts Cathy! always bring a smile to my face. I've never participated in A-Z, however April is also National Poetry Month and I am sorta taking part in that (by myself) - not posting everyday, a poem a day is a lot to ask, but I will post old and new poems through the month of April and have kicked off with two the first a Pantoum and the second more serious Delving into Dali. Happy A-Z I will see each of your posts as they arrive in my mail box ^_^

  13. You got all the way to "I" before running out of cuss words??
I barely know any and only use two. Bloody and that F word, but that one is mostly in my head not out loud.

How's it going, eh? It's SO good to hear from you. Tell me every darn thing...
