Graduation Day

CONGRATULATIONS, GUS: Angus looking incredibly dapper, sporting his Archie Stouffer Elementary School Grade 8 diploma, his new suit and the silver chain Dave and I gave him as a graduation present.

GROUP SHOT: From left, my ex Doug's parents, Jack and Mary, Doug, Angus, Sam, me and Dave. Thanks to my Mom for taking the photo!

GREAT LOOKING COUPLE: My adorable mom and my adorable son.

STACHE ALERT: Sometimes a good bow tie needs a moustache.
LOOK SEXY, SAM: So he did.

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN: Angus and his friends all dressed up with some place to go - the Grade 8 graduation dance. Watch out, girls!
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?  Actually, who are you not to be?  You are a child of God.  Your playing small does not serve the world.  There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.  We are all meant to shine, as children do.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.  It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.  And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

  1. My God, Cathy...such beautiful (yes, I said "beautiful". What's he gonna do? Hunt me down? I'll just run away...)boys you have! I'm loving both the blue hair and the huge grin. Please tell him congrats from me...oh, the hearts he'll break! (I have many thoughts on the body language in that group photo but I'll keep it to myself...for now.)

  5. I love his blue hair... I STILL need to color mine.

These photos are great. I can imagine how proud you are (with that tinge of sadness that your baby is growing up way too fast)--I will be there next year with Gabe (Goob).

Holy CARP! Are you ready for Highschool? It still works the same in Canada, right?

Scares me to death. Good luck to you and Angus, of course :-).

  7. Awww, does Angus ever look good in his suit. It sure doesn't take long for them to grow up. You must be one proud mama.

Other observations: You look just like your mom. And Sam is such a cutie.

  9. Congrats Gustafer!

Nice pics Cathy... I like the Blue on black - Classy! And the chain he's wearing over the tie is a nice touch too. Loved the quote as well.

You gotta be a proud Mama - you're doin' a great job to get them this far along. Keep it up... it only gets harder so enjoy the "Easy times" while you can... lol!

  14. I don't know how you were allowed to go to your graduation with that hair color, I wish I were to go to my graduation like that but I wasn't allowed to do it.
