Uh oh

You know what I just did? I had a bath to get ready for work and I forgot to wash my hair. I FORGOT TO WASH MY HAIR! Washing my hair is the MAIN REASON I have a bath every day. And I forgot!
There I was putting mousse in my hair just now an it felt different, you know. Thick. And it suddenly occurred to me I had dunked my head under the water and then gotten out of the tub without a shampoo. The evidence was in the bathroom waiting for me: a dry shampoo bottle.

So now I have to wash my hair in the kitchen sink. Could I BE any more fecking stupid?

ARGGGHHHHHHH.

  1. Oh dear. Not good. :) Since I quit working done of these sorts of things happen to me any longer, but I can remember stuff like putting the coffee in without a filter. And yelp, I even forgot to wash my hair a couple of times in the shower. You are not alone. By any means whatsoever.

    1. Oh yeah, I do the coffee filter thing all the time. Also, I set it all up and then forget to press the 'on' button.

  6. You're not in trouble until you get out and start drying only to realize you haven't rinsed the shampoo out at all. THAT was an interesting day.

  7. You most likely have dementia ;^)

I wish forgetting to wash my hair was the worst thing I forgot most days. Peace...

  8. You know, now that you mention it, I don't remember the last time I washed my hair. Not that I have much hair. Maybe I did wash it and I just forgot.

Cathy, you're starting to make me question my sanity.

    1. You have sanity? I wish I had sanity. If I did, i'd question it every day.

  9. Hey, at least you realized it before you got out the house and on your way to work. Remembering that you didn't wash your hair then would be a bit more unnerving :-)

    1. True that. There was this one time (in band camp) when I found myself washing my hair in the sink in the bathroom at work. I forget why but it likely had something to do with forgetting....

  10. Did it make you feel like Still Alice?? JK! If it makes you feel better I only wash my hair twice a week because it's curly/frizzy and repeated washing makes it AWFUL(ER)!

  11. Couldn't you fake it? It's quite easy with short hair.

    1. I dunno, Joanne. My hair gets pretty greasy without a daily wash... and it's worse when it's greasy combined with dampness... maybe a supermodel could pull off the greasy damp look (they do it all the time in adventure flicks) but, sadly, it's not a good look for me. (I've seen it after camping trips - Bela Lugosi comes to mind...)

    1. It's crazy, right? Maybe we need a daily flow chart to check off daily necessities:
      Urinate? Check.
      Coffee intravenous infusion? Check.
      Brain transplant? Still waiting....

  14. Bummer. :( If you take a shower though, instead of a bath, you can't possibly forget to shampoo.

  15. I have a routine in the morning. If anyone comes in and disturbs my routine, I am done.

I can't tell you how many times I have gone to work, discovered I have forgotten deodorant, and had to go to BJ's (like Costco) and buy the "super" pack of four full size deodorants. Well, I could tell you, but then I'd feel even more stupid.

But I will say, I just donated 23 of them to the shelter.

  17. Hey, at worst it gave you blogging material. And sink showers ain't so bad in the grand scheme, are they?

    1. No, you're right.. except my hair dangles down the drain and into the old icky meat grease that I should have washed out years ago... so then the ends of my hair are all coated in ooky meat grease, which is a political statement in some circles!

  19. I dunno, some peopleswear that "dirty" hair is easier to style. I've done the wash in the sink thing though :-)

  20. I've steeped out of the shower and forgot to rinse my hair of conditioner. Down to the kitchen sink I go to rinse.

  21. And I just wanted to say: switch to shower. After reading previous comment, I'm not so sure it would be helpful....

  22. No surprise to me...no stupidity, either. I could forget all sorts of things in the shower. I can just drift away with my thoughts.

  23. I sometimes forget to do things under the shower, too. LIke wash my hair, or leave the shower on for my wife.

But then, my time in the sower is often my best thinking time. It's no wonder I seem absent-minded; I'm not, but it can seem that way.

How's it going, eh? It's SO good to hear from you. Tell me every darn thing...
