D is for Doors Contest!

Add caption

It's the moment you've all been waiting for - the Great April Fool's Knocked Up Guess the Damned Door Contest!
Vanna, tell them what they have to do:
"Thank you, Cathy! All they have to is is match up the photo of the door with the door's owner!"
That's pretty easy, Vanna.
"Yes, Cathy! But it's not as easy as you think, holding up my hand like this. My wrist is all crampy and I can't unfurl my knuckles. I think that I need more money for this door contest gig."
Vanna, you're just standing there. And you're not even really standing because you're just a picture and you have no legs.
"And you're any better? At least I've got great boobs."
At least mine are REAL!
"Cathy, I wouldn't be bragging about that, if I were you."
Vanna, you may have a great body and great non-existant legs but my nasty appendages are totally real and totally capable of kicking some skinny celebrity butt.
"Ow! Ow! Ow!"

Now that we're alone, here's the dirt: there are 20 doors and 20 names. All but one of the door-owners have a blog and, as well as the names, I'm including a link to their blogs so you can go and scout out their sites for clues. There are no specific clues planted but it's surprising how many people's front doors match up with the personality of their owners. While you're there, say hello and give them a follow – I know all of them and they have some of the greatest blogs on the planet.

Then, guess whose door belongs to who. Send them in an email to me at: catherinegwendolynne at hotmail dot com or here. Don't guess the doors in the comments because you don't want to help other people get the right answers, do you?
Not when there's a super duper prize package waiting for you!
That's right, the top three guessers will each win a special Life on the Muskoka Prize Package full of cool Muskoka-stuff I haven't bought yet!!!
Yes, I know, you're excited!
I'll give you almost a week to send me your guesses. Please include a link to your blog, if you have one, and I'll give you a plug on prize day.
Winners will be announced Tuesday, April 12.
Now, drumroll please - here are the DOORS!!!!!

1 - the mysterious atmospheric door

2 - the happy aluminum door with outside lamp

3 - the bright white door with matching snowbank

4 - the cheery antique door with cute decoration

5 - the modern angled shiny door

6 - the classic door, open to welcome strangers

7 - fancy door with fancy red decoration

8 - beautiful oval door with manicured gardens

9 - a one-of-a-kind door in the refinishing

10 - 'welcome spring' says the smiling skeleton door

11 - a Victorian screen door and a porch that says "welcome"

12 - a cute 50s vintage door in natty navy and white

13 - attractive suburban door with matching sidelights

14 - shiny ox-red door with expansive white trim

15 - vintage hand-painted paddles on a well-loved door

16 - the door with the best lips

and a mini-snowman

18 - round archway doors with lots of glass

19 - mysterious red door with mysterious letter 'A'

20 - House buried in snow - at least I think there's a house back there...

You'll notice one of the entries isn't a door. It's a house. In fact, you can't even see the door because the snowbank is so high... that's because I started this contest off as a HOUSE contest and only one lovely person sent me a house. So there.. 19 doors and one house.

Here's the list of Usual and Unusual Suspects:

That's it! Easy-peasy! The three folks with the most correct answers win prizes!
Have fun and happy guessing!

  19. I can't begin to guess, but I love looking at those doors and seeing that people I like live in nice places. A few of those doors seem to be asking for stories to be written about them. You could get a little more mileage out of these pictures if others agree.
