F is for Fabulous

Remember Jill Latendre?
How could you forget?
Two days before she underwent a double mastectomy, Jill had a farewell party for her breasts. And what a terrific party it turned out to be.
There was a capacity crowd at the Burk's Falls Legion with dancing and laughter and great food – and more than $4,000 raised for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Yesterday I received an e-mail from Mizz Jill and, since so many of you commented on her bravery and sent her good wishes, I thought I'd share her message with you:

Hi! Cathy
It has been 2 weeks since my surgery; it has not been all that much fun I
can tell you honestly a whole lot of pain. But people like you make it much
more bearable. This is my 1st day back in the office & I finally got a
chance to read your blog, it is amazing. I did not know what a blog was when
you asked me if you could run my story. Your comments touched my heart like
you can not believe & comments from others are melting my heart. I tried to
comment back, but my skills are limited on a computer so don't know if it
even went through. I truly thank you for your kindness & wonderful words.
all my Love Jillxoxoxo

In case you're wondering how Jill fits in with the A-Z Blogging Challenge? Just look her up in the dictionary. You'll find her picture next to the word "Fabulous."

P.S. Don't forget to get your guesses in for my Damned Door Contest. You could win some FABULOUS prizes! Details are here.

P.S.S. Speaking of the F-word, OMG, you have to go to Alan W. Davidson's blog, Conversations From Land's Edge, and see the unseemly photo of him in his FEZ. I had a stomach-altering guffaw looking at that man's picture. He just cracks me up.

  1. So glad to hear Jill is back on her feet, and here's hoping she is feeling much more like herself very soon. How good to keep her sense of humor through it all. She's amazing.

  2. What a 'fabulous' way to honor your friend, Jill!
I too had breast cancer, so can somewhat relate.
You have a great blog site...love all the doors.

I found you with the ‘surprise me’ button. I’m a new follower of yours. I'd love to have you check out my take on the A to Z Challenge, comment and follow, if you'd like.

  3. Yes, I remember your post on Jill. Glad to hear that things are returning to normal. Congrats to her for such a successful campaign in raising money for the cancer society!

An added note...thanks for the return pimpage, Cathy, regarding my 'fez' post. I see the photo more as 'freaky' than 'fabulous'.

Yes, Alan's F post is quite cheeky...that might be TMI.
